One of the FIA's more recent gimmicks that I actually have come to enjoy. I am not quite sure how well the track will be lit in the run-off areas; perhaps this may be a problem, but this is just speculation. This years visual stimuli of the Gran Prix will definitely out class the previous iterations of the worst track on the calendar.

It's too hot to have a day race there, a night race is just fine. Besides, now we can see more exhaust-fires from these turbo monsters.

I'd love to have lights at COTA. It'd be GREAT for mid-May to mid-September

Racing under the lights is great, but a gimmick........ just ask NASCAR fans.
